Color Box Liquid Chalks Tutorial

Color Box Liquid Chalks Tutorial

A different way to use Stampin Up’s new product from the new 2015 Occasions Catalogue.
The colours we have are Aquamarine, Rose Coral and Yellow Citrus.
I learnt this technique many years ago at a craft show in Melbourne.

Firstly and most importantly, this technique only works on glossy card.

Step 1.
I use sponges to apply the liquid chalks, but you can also use the chalk pads as you will see later in this tutorial.

Step 2.
Using a circular motion apply first chalk colour to glossy card.

Step 3.
Continue with the second colour and then any subsequent colours you want.

Step 4.
Cover the entire card.

A variation to this is to use the colour straight from pad to card stock.

The use of this direct application will give a different effect as shown.

Step 5.
This now needs to dry before the next step; I use my heat gun to speed up the process.

Step 6.
Polish it off with a soft cloth to restore the glossy surface (I use an old face washer)

Voila!  You have now created a new background for stamping or die cutting.

Now to Die Cut your Butterfly Thinlit
Make a sandwich using:

     1.     Magnetic Platform,
     2.     Cutting Plate
     3.     Grease Proof, Wax or Baking Paper
     4.     Dryer Sheet
     5.     Card stock
     6.     Grease proof, wax or baking
     paper (I use two layers)
     7.     Butterfly Die
     8.     Cutting Plate

Run it through your Big Shot and then simply
peel it off!

At our team meeting, we discussed the fact that the dryer sheets leave a residue on the cutting mats, so I have added a layer of wax paper under the dryer sheet to solve this problem.
